Get started with GeoEngage
Set up GeoEngage in four steps: add your site, install the tag, check that it works and publish your first personalization rule.
GeoEngage changes what visitors see on your website — popups, banners, sticky bars and in-page text, image and form changes — based on where they are, the device they use and how they behave. It runs as a single script tag; everything else happens in your dashboard.
1. Add your site
Start a free trial — 14 days, no credit card. Setup asks what visitors should see differently and which website it's for, then gives you the tag with your site's API key already in it.
Already have an account? Open Sites in the dashboard and choose Add Site. Every plan includes unlimited websites.
2. Install the tag
Paste the tag inside <head> on every page, above your content:
<!-- GeoEngage — place in <head>, above your content.
Do not add async/defer: the widget must run before the page paints. -->
<script
src="https://cdn.geoengage.app/ge.js"
data-api-key="YOUR_API_KEY"
data-require-consent="false"
></script>
There's a step-by-step guide for Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Next.js, React and any other site.
3. Check it's working
Open any page of your site in a new tab. Setup notices the visit within a few seconds, and so does this check:
Nothing after a minute? See The tag isn't detected.
4. Publish your first rule
A rule pairs conditions — who it's for, such as visitors from Germany on a phone — with an action: what those visitors see. Setup suggests a first rule from the goal you picked; later, add more from Rules → Add New Rule. How rules work covers the rest.
A rule only reaches your site once it's published. Save & Publish puts it live. The widget checks your rules on every page view, and again on every route change in a single-page app.
