# Install GeoEngage on Shopify

> Add the GeoEngage tag to your Shopify theme's theme.liquid so rules can personalize every storefront page.

Every Shopify theme has one layout file, `layout/theme.liquid`, that wraps every storefront page. The tag goes there, once.

## Add the tag

1. In Shopify admin, open **Online Store → Themes**.
2. Next to your live theme, choose **⋯ → Edit code**.
3. Open `layout/theme.liquid` and paste the tag on the line straight after `<head>`:

4. Choose **Save**.

> [!NOTE]
> Shopify runs checkout itself and doesn't load theme code there, so rules can't change checkout pages. Every other storefront page is covered.

## Switching themes

The tag lives in the theme, not the store. If you publish a different theme later, or prepare a copy that isn't live yet, add the tag to that theme's `theme.liquid` too.
